Then as I left the room, the kids waved and said goodbye, their voice can be heard from the whole block I guess ':D. I felt relieved that nothing happened. You know how the young 'uns can be dramatic right? Otherwise I'd felt very very bad for leaving. During the break time the principal and the deputies spent some time in my mini-farewell brunch, asking if I would like to stay. I told them how much I love teaching but I have no choice :)
I felt sorry for the kids actually for leaving without giving them something. That's why after the Zuhur prayer I returned at the classroom and wrote something for them. Its not entirely mine but I like this one:
Dear Students,
The key to your happiness lies within yourselves. Live your lives with HONESTY, INTEGRITY, and KINDNESS. Take the high road. Find the things you love and be passionate about them. Live each day as if it were your last. Plan for tomorrow. Strive for your 'Dunia' but don't forget your 'Akhirat'. Dream Big. Be inspired. Be TOLERANT of others. Be an inspiration to others. Remember, you have a responsibility to yourself – to do amazing, KIND things. I will miss you… more than you know.
P/s: Im happy with the improvements in your attendance. Keep it up!!
- Sir :D
Honestly, there are sooo many things that I wanted to say. But of course I understand no matter how much I write, you wouldn't know how much all of you meant to me. I learnt to accept that as well :). I really really hope that you always make the right decisions and I really wanted to know if there are things that I can do to nudge you to the right directions. During my nine months with you guys, I know that some of you will shine as bright as the stars while the others will become beautiful gems. I will miss you guys, as I miss your two classmates that had transferred earlier this year.
I look forward to hear again from all of you. So many things happened during my short spell at this school. A couple of months ago, I was very happy because I met some of my former students back when I was doing teaching practice. It was good to hear that everyone is doing well. Most of the girls got married though. Hence, I just laughed when they asked when will I get married. I do hope to hear good things from all of you too! Oh and thank you for teaching me so many things especially in being a teacher.
So again, I leave you with my previous whiteboard letter, be kind to your friends and respect your teachers. For no matter how cool you're going to be - a doctor, engineer, teacher, scientist - the coolest thing is always BEING KIND.
